TLDR: Drugs

Hello all you Correlationers!

With all the changes in the world, people are trying to stay productive by picking up new hobbies or rekindle the love in long lost ones. It's nice when your hobbies can be a productive use of time for yourself and others but the important thing is to make sure you always do what makes you happy. One of the simplest hobbies you can pick up during these times is to read some of your favorite books, or find new ones! We definitely won't judge if you want to dust off some of your Young Adult novels that were all the rage in the early 2010s! We often wonder why YA novels were so popular across such a wide audience back then and then why it dropped off over the last couple years. Well you don't have to wonder anymore! That's right, the number of popular YA novels published and the nationwide pounds of Cocaine seized by Customs and Border Protection has a -85% correlation from 2012 to 2019. So in the height of good YA novels being published, it was all to hide all the Cocaine trafficking! Now that books aren't being published as often the drugs have nowhere to hide!

Here at Correlation of the Week, one of our hobbies obviously is to find the most ridiculous and nonsensical relationships to try to bring some innocent humor to your day. Another easy hobby you can get involved with is to allow an unused computer to be used to try to find a cure for the coronavirus. Through Rosetta@Home, you can sign up to give your computer's resources to help design new proteins and design 3-dimensional shapes to accelerate research. Read more at: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/
