What about the aftershock?

Hello all you Correlationers!!!

One sport that hasn't taken a rest during the time of quarantine is competitive eating. Case in point, the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest went off without a hitch and the record for most hot dogs (and buns) was broken on both the men and women's side! Both Joey Chestnut and Miki Sudo dominated this competition beating second place by 30 whole hot dogs (and buns) each! This also marks the seventh consecutive win by Miki since she dethroned "The Black Widow" Sonya Thomas in 2014. Miki also holds records for eating 8.5lbs of Kimchi in 6 mins, 16.5 pints of Vanilla Ice Cream in 6 mins, and 14 lbs of hotdish in 8 mins. All that food must cause some serious tummy rumbles after which brings us to our correlation! That's right, the number of winning hot dogs (and buns) in the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest for women and the number of 8+ magnitude earthquakes before noon is 76% correlated from 2011 to 2019. The year is just half way over and no earthquakes over 8 magnitude before noon have been recorded yet so hopefully this relationship breaks!
