Just Play Nice!

Hello all you Correlationers!

Another week, another hot correlation off the press! Can you believe it’s been four weeks in a row‽ As you know, a lot has been happening in the world that demands interpretation so we’re just trying to keep up with it all. Plus, you can’t have too many correlations can you? We think not! That’s why we’ve brought you a double header! Being a couple weeks away from the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, we figured the NHL was due for some clarity. Now we know a spot of violence is what gives Hockey it’s charm and we definitely don’t mind but we have a new mindset after learning this correlation. That’s right! The Minnesota Wild’s average penalty minutes per game and the number of airplane accidents is 91% correlated from 2006 to 2020! Now we really wish they’d just play nice!

Since that last one is a little bit of a bummer, we wanted to have a lighter hearted one too. Last weekend, Chloé Zhao made history when she won Best Director for her film Nomadland which brought up an interesting connection! The age of the “Best Director” and the average age of the Montreal Canadiens is -85% correlated from 2013 to 2020. So with Chloé Winning, the Canadiens might not be replacing their young talent as much this year.

Please subscribe for notifications when new volumes are posted! If you have a suggestion or feedback, we’d love to hear it! As always, if you know anyone else that would like to be a new correlationer, please let us know!
