Oui Messi?

Hello all you Correlationers!

A lot has been happening in the sports world with not only the Olympics going on but also the Eruos, Copa America, Gold Cup, and I’m sure other non-soccer (aka less important) events. There have been so many impressive stories from the Olympics but we’ll have to cover some of those another time. One news story that broke yesterday, and is unfortunately a little bit of a broken record, is that Messi may be leaving Barcelona (again). The club that has the highest chance of signing the Argentine is Paris Saint-Germain which made us think what other ties does Messi have to France? Well we didn’t have to look far to see how much of an impact he could have to the economy if he made the move. That’s right! The number of goals Messi scores and the French Labor force percentage of total population ages 15+ is 85% correlated from 2014 to 2020! We hope Messi stays in Barca but understand if the time has come.
