Hello all you correlationers!
Welcome new correlationers to a proud club of counterfeit correlations, bringing you hot correlations straight off the press! We appreciate everyone’s dedication to correlations and apologize that it’s been so long since the last edition.
We wanted to start off with an update from a previous correlation from volume 9. We noticed that the winning score in the Super Bowl was correlated with the winning score in the Champions League final. Because the Super Bowl had the lowest winning score in history this year, we predicted the Champions League game to be won with a score of 1-0 even before we knew who was playing. The Champions League final was played last Saturday and we were three minutes away from being spot on but Liverpool decided to score a second goal in the 87th minute to beat Tottenham 2-0. I guess soccer is more entertaining than football.
On to the new correlation! As we’re getting into summer I know a lot of people are glad their local swimming pool is open and are trying to soak in the sun as much as possible. Side note, if you are anything like us here at Correlation of the Week, you burn easy; so remember to wear sun screen! Now I be you know where we’re going with this: “Ahh let’s go relax by the swimming pool and go get a donut!”. That’s right, Google search trends for the term “swimming pool” and “donut” have a 77% correlation from June 2015 to June 2019! I don’t know the people that stop looking for donuts in the winter because we’re definitely still finding all sorts of beautiful donuts to eat.
