The Quarantine Fifteen

Hello all you Correlationers!

If you're anything like us, Ice Cream has become a staple for getting through these long monotonous days. An alien looking in might just think we’re all trying to beat Miki Sudo’s world record 16.5 pints in 6 minutes cited in the last edition. 16.5 pints is just over 2 gallons which is about 10 pounds of ice cream coming in at about 9,000 calories, which considering the quarantine weight we’ve been putting on doesn’t seem that bad in the grand scheme of things! Now this correlation might not sound like a crazy shocker but it turns out that the per capita consumption of Ice Cream and the unemployment rate are 89% correlated from the years of 2009 to 2018! Both rates have been decreasing year over year but 2020 has definitely been a year of disruption to say the least. So here’s to another pint of Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Therapy to get us through this year.

Please subscribe for notifications when new volumes are posted! If you have a suggestion or feedback, we’d love to hear it! As always, if you know anyone else that would like to be a new correlationer, please let us know!
