Hello all you Correlationers!
We hope everyone is staying cool with all the stupid heat waves going around! It’s crazy to us that it’s already July. Last year set a low bar but this year is definitely feeling like time if flowing a little more normal even if we mistake “something I did a couple days ago” when it was really months. That’ll happen every once in a while even in the best of years I guess. Now, we’ve always like Baseball but we’ve never really been a massive fan. Recently though, we’ve been going down a YouTube rabbit hole of Jomboy breakdown videos and man does he make the game more interesting. Even if you don’t care for the sport, he has a way of explaining what’s going on in a very interesting way. If only he could commentate all Baseball games to make them go faster because boy do they seem to drag sometimes. Since it’s probably humanly impossible to commentate every single game, we found another thing that is linked to how long MLB games are! That’s right! The average length of MLB games and the Cigarette and Tobacco Market Value is 68% correlated from 2012-2020. So if we can get dumb chewing tobacco out, that must cut down the weird rituals players have when they go to bat.
